We are raising funds to honour the strength and the sorrow of the mothers and widows of fallen Ukrainian soldiers.
Many of these women are so overwhelmed by grief that they can no longer speak. And yet, they must continue living—caring for their families and carrying the unbearable weight of multiple, complex losses.
This fundraiser is for them.
For the past several years, we have worked alongside the Korosten municipality and community volunteers to support Ukrainian women. Through this journey, we have learned that one of the most healing gifts we can offer is community, time in nature, and bearing witness to their grief.
Last year, we organized a field trip to a beautiful local park. With the support of volunteers, social workers, and a military psychologist, the women were offered tools for quieting the mind through moments of stillness. Some sat in silence. Others simply breathed.
In that time together, surrounded by nature, the women began to reconnect—with themselves, with each other, and with hope. They shared stories, tears, and silence. Out of that space came compassion, resilience, and lasting friendships.
In the midst of enormous uncertainty—and the certainty that those they lost will never return—they found a beginning toward healing.
These women have already paid the highest price for the freedom of others.
This Mother's Day, we invite you to stand with them. To show them they are not alone. That they are remembered—and that they matter.
